First update on Falkor

HE'S STILL ALIVE (lol)

We are still having to give him his pills every 8 hours so our riding is still short half day rides

so we try to go as far and see as much as we can.

We took off Fri late after noon for a early supper ride on the way back to town we found an old barn.

Even though it had a "No Trespassing"  sign by the gate well we still had to get some pictures.

 After that we headed to a local lake for a few more pic's

Back home and in for the night

Saturday morn would bring a chance for a longer ride

Up early Saturday Morn and off to Pop's for breakfast

Some how we ended up at St Gregory's Abby in Shawnee.

So us being us we pulled in and walked the campus, talked with a monk

and took tons of pic's.

Mother's day 2016

So mothers day is once again upon us, now in the past

We have switched off between riding and going to Muskogee Oklahoma to the renaissance festival. Well this year since Falkor is still not doing well we decided to do the festival only with a twist.

I decided to take care of two mothers with one move.

To make grandma's day we would take ElizaBeth our 3 year old granddaughter and at the same time her mama would be able to get some rest when she got home from work.

So we gathered our garb loaded the car picked up ElizaBeth and headed out.

The Chopper Underground

A bit of history

What is The Chopper Underground aka TCU? Well, I will do my best at trying to explain where we come from, who we are and what we are about in the next few words.


TCU is an online forum made up of many unique custom bike builders from around the globe. We are not one brand specific and welcome all makes of motorcycles. It is a home to those of us who want to build a bike the way we see it without mortgaging our homes or selling our kids. We have a strong motto and we stick by it. “Chop What Ya Got”

My journey with TCU started in June of 2004. I had just traded a blown up Kawasaki KZ650 for a running and ready to ride 69 Triumph Bonneville (Yes, I stole it) and was quick to realize I wanted to make it different without breaking the bank. I quickly jumped online and started searching for custom Triumph choppers and ran across this small backyard builder website called “Chopper Underground”. I joined this free website with roughly 1400 members and fell in love with the stuff that the members of this place were building. Not only did they have very nice Triumph builds going on but I seen beautiful built Honda’s, Kawasaki’s, Yamaha’s, Suzuki’s and some European bikes. I WAS HOME!

Fast forward a couple of years and the man who started this great site up had disappeared. The site was about to fold and each night after reading the posts and seeing the member’s talents that had been logged getting ready to disappear into internet oblivion I knew I had to do something and do something quick. I was no computer genius but I figured out a way to save all of the information from this website and transform it into what it is today. Here we are 6 years later with a roughly 10,500 registered members. I could not have done it without the help of some very key members who stepped up to assist in the administrator and moderator duties along the way. These outstanding members and I have seen some rough times but as any bike builder knows, you learn the most from those rough times and mistakes. We now have a new home and have worked hard to build it. It has since been re-badged with a new logo and new URL, http://www.thechopperunderground.com/. I am honored to call of these talented members my family. 

 

And now my story starts

I joined TCU in August 2011, looking for a place to call home and move away from another site.

That story is for another time. After joining Lynn I would ride many thousands of miles to meet some of the people on the site, we would also meet Chris (Car99's) who was the owner and Admin. of The Chopper Underground. We would drop in to visit Chris three times and would have a great time each visit. And lets face it riding with the Flatlanders in Illinois is a great way to spend time.

Fast forward to March 2016 and Maxx who was the Admin after Chris passed the site to him makes the announcement that TCU was shutting down, this could not happen.

So I sent messages to Chris and Maxx letting them know I had the time and funds to keep the site going.

On March 26 2016 I became The Admin (caretaker) of The Chopper Underground.

I hope to do as good of a job as those that came before me.
