                                                          Oklahoma fall ride 11/2-3/13

So got the the new Horse mag in today and I told my self before I tear into it and read the suicidal ramblings of a lunatic mad man (love me some George the Painter) I should take the time to update everyone on whats been going on.
We took a fall ride this past weekend
Yeah I know "didn't you just get back from a fall ride"
why yes , Yes we did.
But there is no rule for when we ride
We just ride.
We left out of OKC at 8am Saturday morn and it was cool, a nice 36 degrees with a strong wind and a wind chill of 32 degrees. Hmmmm wind chill of 32 average speed on Skull 65 mph. You do the math. Yep cold
Thats the same thing we thought. But because we both have balls, GREAT BIG BALLS
(metaphorically speaking)
Well we saddled up and took off. after all where we were going is only 262 miles from our place.
Skull had been rewired , new head lights, new inline fuses and a new clutch cable from Drummer when we were in Mo. We should be ready to roll and all good.
LOL
First and foremost I really like SE Oklahoma but I hate how long it takes to get there
It just seems to take forever. The roads are ok but the ride is awfull. Now Its like that for me no matter if we drive or ride. And this weekend was wind as heck, which makes it worse. We did wear our helmets, mainly because we knew it was going to be windy and cold. The bad thing doing that is we end up feeling like we have been beat with a baseball bat. Add to that the new clutch cable breaking at the leaver just like the last one. Now this time I was a little more prepared than last time. I had dug up one of my old cable locks(thats what I call them) they slide on the break cable and screw tight to hold the cable. Well we had one guys stop to ask if we need help or anything Lynn told him no hes adjusting the clutch after fixing the broke cable.
Broke clutch cable HA that aint gonna make us turn back.
We got to Colgate Ok around noon and thought we would stop check our GPS and take a break from sitting. Lynn noticed the cafe across the street was open so she decided to walk across the road with helmets in hand and get us a booth and order some coffee.  I started Skull up and rode her across to park out front of the cafe. Thats when an old farmer walked up and said
"you know seeing her walking and you riding reminded me of a story I heard along time ago"
Me: "really what would that be"
Old farmer: "well it goes like this."
This old farmer was out workin his field when he saw this indian riding up to him
He kept watching and here comes his squaw.
The old farmer said hey how come your riding and your squaw is walking
The indian looked at the farmer and said
She dont have horse..
LOL
well the ride to the cabin was good with no more problems
Lynn got to see a beautiful eagle in flight
need to check the flip to see if she got it.
Now the rest of the weekend was uneventful till we get back in town.I chose to take the turnpike and I-40 back to OKC. was a good thing, because as we pulled off the hwy to turn to go to the house I pulled in on the clutch and clunk, the cable lock fell off .Which made me put Skull up on the grass off of the exit ramp.I walked back a got the cable lock and Lynn said why dont you just use the vise gripes the rest of the way home. Which I did.
New clutch cable is on today and we are ready for the week end!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Heres a video of our weekend ride it was only 514 miles but it was fun
