Fathers day weekend ride 2015
Our plan was simple load up on Voyager Fri afternoon June 19th and head
south to New Orleans.  Lynns customer gave her all day Fri off so we got a jump
on the weekend. Left out of Bethany Oklahoma at 6:15 am headed across the RedRiver
and points south. It was 700 miles and we were ready.
The bridge that crosses the Red River (I-35 south) into Texas

The train bridge

This is a shot looking north into Oklahoma
there is a road (you can see the 2 way sign)
that goes under this bridge
the bridges height from the road you can't see to the bottom
of the bridge is 14 feet 9 inches
we have had over 20 inches of  rain in 30 days
thats 5 1/2 times more than we normally get

On south we pushed deep into Texas
only stopping for food and gas
OK and to take a few pic's

we road hard and fast running hwy 82 to I-49 on to Shreveport LA then
to Lafayette LA where we would pick up I-10 to New Orleans
and thats where thing start to take a fun turn
We got stuck in a traffic jam for 2 1/2 hours
stop and go stop and go
so we just pulled off to the shoulder and waited

thats where doing a once over on the bike we found this
Well we knew what we had to do get to the next town (Baton Rouge LA)
find a hotel, get on the net and find a tire shop.
we were lucky in alot of ways on this part of the ride
First there was a motorcycle tire shop 6 miles from the hotel and they
were open Sat morn.
Second we were runnin 80 and 85 mph on I-49 to get where we were going.
The tire could have gave out and we could have went down.
We ordered supper and waited for it to arrive which was almost and hour
due to the traffic tie up on I-10
We ate and bed down sat morn would get here way to early.
Radzs motorcycle shop, Baton Rouge LA

Tire on and it was time to get on our way, destination Madewood Plantation
No New Orleans no Stoner cemetery
that part of the trip would have to wait for another time.
We found out when we arrived , that we had the entire house to ourselfs
Now this was going to be fun.
You see they have a cemetery on the grounds it's small but it's still
a cemetery. Also some of Lynns family might be burried there.
so check out the videos

 .
While we were on our way home on Hwy 82 east we ran into
a really heavy rain storm. About a mile outside Clarksville Texas
there was a big down burst that picked us up and set us down on
the shoulder, the horses across the hwy were running so we knew
it was a heavy thunder storm and was hoping it was not more.
We pulled into the church and parked under an awning thats we
the pastor came out a visited with us. He even opened up the youth building so
we could get inside out of the rain and use the restrooms if we needed.
This is a video of part of the rain storm

Well thats it for now
We have a lot more pic's and video from this trip
so I can do something new for the winter time when we are not riding
LOL
cause we ride almost year around
